All water taxis, passengers, and vehicle ferries to Staddie leave from Cleveland.
You can drive, hire a car, or catch a taxi to Toondah Harbour, Cleveland, where ferries depart to Stradbroke Island. You can take your vehicle on the ferry or leave it on the mainland.
For our guests travelling via plane, we recommend you fly into Brisbane and you can take a shuttle from Brisbane Airport directly to the ferry terminal.

There are plenty of accommodation options at North Straddie and we encourage you to look for the options that bests suits you. Below are a few options of local resorts close to our wedding venue at Point Lookout SLSC. There's also plenty of AirBnBs in the local area too. Many of the accommodation options require a minimum of 2-day stay, so consider this in your planning.
The Islander Holiday Resort is positioned centrally at Point Lookout on the north-eastern tip of Straddie. They are situated opposite Home Beach and it's a short walk to patrolled Cylinder Beach. Great for some of our guests wanting a holiday on a budget.

The Whalewatch Ocean Beach Resort is perfect for our guests planning a short stay. It's a 600 meter walk to our wedding venue and has a variety of self-catered accommodation options. It's a great option for couples or guests wanting their personal space.

Average cost: $400 per night
Samarinda has a range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that overlook the scenic view of Point Lookout. Walking distance to our wedding venue, this is a great option for those staying on the island on their own, or with other couples, family or friends.

For those who don't want to take a car onto the island, we recommend you book your transport from the ferry to your accommodation through StradEasy.
There’s lots to do at Straddie; we highly encourage you to stay a few extra days to enjoy the island if you can.
THE KEYHOLES
The northern end of the swamp, the Keyholes, are clear freshwater lakes, delightful for stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking. It is approximately a 1-hour walk, along the beach and over the dunes, from Main Beach Headland, Point Lookout.
CYLINDER BEACH
Cylinder Beach is a picturesque cove between Cylinder and Home Beach Headlands. It's easily accessible with a carpark situated only meters from the beach. The waves at Cylinder are often smaller and therefore it is perfect for sunbathing and swimming during good weather conditions. Lifeguards and lifesavers patrol this beach.
AMITY POINT
Amity Point is a small seaside village that enjoys beautiful sunsets over the bay. Here the waters are calm and the area is a favorite place for spotting dolphins and pelicans. Amity is great for kayaking or fishing from the jetty. There’s plenty of seafood to be had at Amity from Seashells Café or Rufus King Seafood.
Minjerribah Camping offers beachfront camping across 6 campgrounds located at Dunwich, Amity Point and Point Lookout. For visitors with a 4WD, Minjerribah Camping has 200 campsites on the foreshore of Flinders Beach as well as 300 campsites on the Southern end of Main Beach.
Hire a scooter to explore the island and visit the local attractions such as the Island Museum or find the perfect spot for whale watching. Scooters on Straddie is based in Dunwich and is a great way to get around freely for visitors without a car.
Straddie’s 9-hole golf course is surrounded by dense native bush lands about 5-10 minutes from the township of Dunwich. The course is a public golf course offering a wide range of playing times 7 days a week offering scenic views of Brown Lake, the Brisbane harbour, Moreton Bay and the Glasshouse Mountains.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest present of all. However, should you wish to honour us with a gift, a wishing well will be available at the reception.
